Quality Inn April 25

Rain was coming, there was no logistical support and yesterdays miles and mountains were still with me. I was taking a day off the road. At breakfast in the office lobby of the motel I called my Rotary and Lion numbers unsuccessfully.

Rain Rain Rain

It was John Carlin the owner/manager of the motel who offered to help. He said that he had read an Associated Press story about Planetwalk a few weeks earlier, he wasn't sure where but he remembered it. The president of the Local Lions Club, he placed a call to the Rotary in Bedford and told me we would attend their seven am meeting the next morning, and we would drop my bag along with my computer at the Quality Inn in Bedford.

The rain came as a cold front passed through. I relaxed the rest of the day, and let the tired miles slip away.
